Phil's blog

Back

I am back in the office and hitting the ground running. I have lots of stuff to make up, after missing a couple days last week. I think there should be a law that if you leave town for vacation or business, no one can give you more work to do while you're gone. :)

Hanging out in Phoenix

So, yesterday and today I was in Phoenix at the E-quip partners meeting, talking about how we can make it better. I think we came up with some really good ideas. In case you don't know what E-quip is, it is an online training site with all kinds of content to help you train  yourself and your leaders. You can find it at http://bcmd.e-quip.net/.If you have any ideas on how to improve the experience, email me!

Working out the Bugs

Sometimes things can get a little frustrating when you try to manage a website. I am trying to add a WYSIWYG editor to a website and it isn't working. I guess things just can't always be smooth!

LTNS and Copyright

Well, It's been a long time since I've posted a blog entry. I got caught up with the Holidays and then never got back here to post new content. Please forgive me. I'll try to be better.

Today I was reading some online forums and found a great link to an article on "10 Myths about Copyright". It's a great article and I think you should read it. You can do so by clicking here.

Stuck in the snow!

It's a snowy day here in Maryland and I was on my way home to work after our monthly pastor's breakfast, when I took a road I probably shouldn't have. I made it quite a ways and found a vehicle in the middle of the road. I stopped and decided to turn around. When I stopped and started to go backwards, I started to slip and slide and I am now in a ditch.

I called AAA and am now sitting here waiting for a tow truck to get me out. I am OK and I think my van is ok (only minor damage if there is any as I was only going about 5 mph at the time).

Free Media from ChurchMedia.net

Every year, my friend and mentor, Tim Eason goes into Santa mode. He has put together an advent calendar. Each day of the month, there is a new image you can use for your church service and they are all free.

Christmas is a great time to incorporate media into your services and this is an affordable way to do it!

Busy Week

I am currently working as the "media guy" at the Annual Meeting of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/ Delaware.

It has been 3 days of meetings and worship and preaching. Lots of media elements to manage and put on the screen. Thank God I have a padawan to help me. her name is Christen and she is 12. She is brilliant and has done a great job.

Are you going to the BCM/D Annual Meeting in OC?

I'll be there from Sunday through the end on Tuesday. I was wondering if anyone else was going to be there?

Are you blogging?

I was thinking it would be cool to compile a list of all the Pastor's and staff in our association who are blogging. Please send me an email and let me know if you are!

Minister's Family Get A Way

My family and I are going to Lancaster, PA this weekend for the BCM/D's annual Minister's Family get-a-way. I am looking forward to a relaxing time with my family. I need a break from the grind. I have been pretty busy as of late, and I know it's just going to get busier with the Holiday's coming.

I hope that any of you who didn't hear about it, or decided not to go, will consider it next year!

See you next week at the Pastor's Prayer Breakfast!
